Forrest Griffin Should be “Scared” of Rashad Evans

Rashad Evans’ boxing coach, Mike Winkeljohn, helped Evans come up with the gameplan that put Chuck Liddell face first into the mat. With the Evans getting a title shot against UFC light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin, Winkeljohn feels that Evans will be too much for Griffin.

“If I were Forrest, I would be a little scared right now,” Winkeljohn told FightHype.com.

Nobody had ever knocked out Chuck Liddell; that is until Evans blasted an overhand right on Liddell’s jaw in the 2ndRound.

“He’s got tree trunk legs,” Winkeljohn continued. “He looks small, but he’s a running back. We’re doing sprints up the Alps and working on explosive things and he gets so much power from his legs.”

Griffin will have a height advantage, but Evans has the athletic advantage. One thing that Winkeljohn admits that they must look out for is Griffin’s heart, as he explained, “The thing with Forrest is if he’s not the toughest, he’s one of the toughest fighters out there. That man will walk through fire to get the job done.”
